DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL AVIATION
The Department of civil aviation operating under the Ministry of Transport and Public Works. The department has two main divisions: Operation and Regulatory. The Operation Division is responsible for providing aerodromes operation services, air traffic managements services, Aeronautical telecommunication engineering services and firefighting services. The Regulatory Division is also responsible for regulating civil aviation operation services in Malawi. This is done through the following division: Airworthiness, Flight Operation, Personal Licensing and Air Transport Planning. The Department has another division, School of Aviation, which is responsible for providing aviation training to personnel within the department and other stakeholders.

To regulate and facilitate the development of a safe efficient, effective and sustainable air transport industry in Malawi.

A safe, efficient and cost effective air transport service.
Mission
To provide safe, efficient, cost effective and sustainable air transport infrastructure and services to operators in the transport of of passengers, freight and mail in compliance with internationally acceptable standards, contributing to the Socio-economic development of Malawi.
